Last week, Marknadsakademien went on an inspiring company visit at the recruitment company Cruitway. Founder Adrian Swartz talked about his entrepreneurial journey from selling oven mitts out of his high school locker to starting a challenger in the field of recruitment platforms, failing fast, start ups and gig economy.
Finally, the first MA #AW of the semester took place, this time at Tap Room Kungsholmen! It was a great evening with former and current MA members while enjoying some drinks. We are looking forward to the next MA #AW!
Marknadsakademien had a great visit at MAQS yesterday, where we learned how law firms are engaged in marketing practices. Lawyer Monique Wadsted shared interesting insights behind her work and explained what is allowed in advertising and how this changed over the years.

Yesterday we visited TV4 where Marketing Managers Gustav Holmström (who is an alumnus of ours!) and Gustav Pontén gave us valuable insights on how they use creative solutions to market new shows. It was truly interesting to learn about the different tasks and challenges that marketing managers face in their everyday work. Thank you TV4!
Last week was busy but fun for the members of Marknadsakademien. We started off with a guest lecture by Stefan Lagerqvist, Nordic Marketing Director Home Care for Unilever. He held a fun and inspiring lecture about marketing in the FMCG industry.
On Friday we headed to Samsung’s head quarter and visited their Nordic Head of Marketing, Adam Fors. In addition to giving us a tour around the office and demonstrating their upcoming launches, Adam held a passionate lecture about Samsung’s organizational culture and brand strategy.

It was also time for our second internal event this semester. We went off to sea to spend some quality time together before some of us head home for the holidays. But don’t despair! We will still have some fun events coming up before the semester is over, and the recruitment period for next semester will open in December. Marknadsakademien had the honor of visiting our alumnus Fredrick Tallroth, the Head of Product at Wrapp. Wrapp is a payback-app that transforms big data into personalized customer rewards. It was interesting to learn about marketing career opportunities in an unconventional and innovative environment. In other words, a perfect way to Wrapp up the week!
Today we had an inspiring and engaging case lecture with Stefan Fraenkel. We received great real-world insights on how to work with cases, what the clients want and how to tackle difficult tasks that a consultant may encounter. We are super excited to make use of these new insights in our live cases!
Marknadsakademien was invited to Prime and United Minds Intro event and got to learn more about the different roles and opportunities within the marketing communication and PR industry. The Prime Group is an award-winning communications agency that provided us with interesting insights of the different creative tasks that their employees are managing. Thank you Prime and United Minds for inviting us!
We joined the award-winning production company B-Reel on their student night to learn more about the advertising industry. Our members got the opportunity to mingle with employees, attend inspiring lectures and speed-date with their recruitment managers and other influential managers at the company. A big thanks to B-Reel for inviting us to this event!

A global photo and video sharing application (Company A) recently released an update allowing customers to share brief moments in the form of temporary videos and pictures. This new function is strikingly similar to another form of social media (Company B), which allows users to post brief videos and photos that disappear shortly after being viewed.
Company A currently has 300 million daily users compared to Company B, which has 150 million daily users. Your task is to develop a strategy for Company A to gain greater traction in the market space created by Company B: temporary video and photo sharing. Please complete this task in one page or less.

On the lucky Friday, May 13th Marketing Academy celebrated its 25th anniversary, in the company of both current and old members. The evening started with speeches made by the current members, followed by a three-course dinner, and a mingle among old and new members. This amazing evening was a perfect chance to mingle with old friends and recall all the accomplishments MA has achieved in the course of over two decades. Both current and old members shared their personal stories with everyone, explaining how they benefited from Marketing Academy and why they appreciate the organization.
We hope for 25 more, equally successful and exciting years!
A few days ago Marketing Academy got a visit from Marianne from Incluso, a start-up contributing to a greater ethnical diversity within the Swedish job market. As the name suggests, Incluso makes sure that individuals from different countries and with various backgrounds are included in the job market, and that their international experiences are appreciated.
Marianne shared with us her tips on what to include in a CV, how to write an intriguing cover letter, as well as how to behave during a job interview in Sweden. Since most of us have an international background, we find all the advice really useful.
