Marknadsakademien has gotten a make over! After a semester of work, we are introducing our new website with an improved design, more information, more photos, and more personality. We hope you like it.

Unfortunately, through the transfer, we lost all of last semester's blog posts. So let us take a look back at the past Fall Term of 2017, a semester marked by a refocussing on Marknadsakademien's values and strategy. To stick to the chronology of this blog, lets start with the most recent events and work our way back to the beginning of the term. Today we had our semi-annual meeting, with the main purpose of electing our new board members for the next term and providing them with more information. the meeting ended with dinner. We would like to say thank you to all the members who worked really hard to make this semester a huge success.

Unilever Guest Lecture, Samsung Company Visit and a Boat Trip!

Last week was busy but fun for the members of Marknadsakademien. We started off with a guest lecture by Stefan Lagerqvist, Nordic Marketing Director Home Care for Unilever. He held a fun and inspiring lecture about marketing in the FMCG industry.

On Friday we headed to Samsung’s head quarter and visited their Nordic Head of Marketing, Adam Fors. In addition to giving us a tour around the office and demonstrating their upcoming launches, Adam held a passionate lecture about Samsung’s organizational culture and brand strategy.

It was also time for our second internal event this semester. We went off to sea to spend some quality time together before some of us head home for the holidays. But don’t despair! We will still have some fun events coming up before the semester is over, and the recruitment period for next semester will open in December. Marknadsakademien was invited to Prime and United Minds Intro event and got to learn more about the different roles and opportunities within the marketing communication and PR industry. The Prime Group is an award-winning communications agency that provided us with interesting insights of the different creative tasks that their employees are managing. We are now accepting applications for the new semester! If you want to become a member of Marketing Academy, read the application rules below:  

The deadline to send in your application is on 9th of September at midnight. For your application you will need:

  • A CV
  • A cover letter
  • A written assignment (maximum one page)

The application should be written in English.

The assignment will give you the opportunity to show how you think about marketing. Try to be as creative as possible!

You should not send in your application until all the components are complete. Applications should then be send to If you have any questions, please use the same e-mail address.


Written assignment:

A global photo and video sharing application (Company A) recently released an update allowing customers to share brief moments in the form of temporary videos and pictures. This new function is strikingly similar to another form of social media (Company B), which allows users to post brief videos and photos that disappear shortly after being viewed.

Company A currently has 300 million daily users compared to Company B, which has 150 million daily users. Your task is to develop a strategy for Company A to gain greater traction in the market space created by Company B: temporary video and photo sharing. Please complete this task in one page or less.
